And you!
On this week’s episode of The Legend of Retro, the sweet, family friendly IP takes a dark turn and gets violent and starts swearing. And the game they cover does too! Be warned: there is an explicit tag on this episode as the guys let loose in the penultimate episode of the podcast. If you listen with kids, be sure to let them know how lucky they are to be listening to such mature content!
Let’s take a trip to the past with some of your favorite retro game podcast hosts, as Chops and Craig_WK jump into the Epoch and take a trip to 1995! They look into the history of the game, the brilliant collaboration of the dream team of Japanese style role playing games, as well as the amazing music. That description might be bland, but we can always re-do it with a New Game Plus! To finish off the episode, the dynamic duo talk about a Retro Relapse that was too hot to handle in a previous episode. We hope you enjoy hearing about the greatest JRPG of all time!
One day, quite by accident, a gate to The Legend of Retro was opened by a gang of podcasters skilled in the black arts. This land was like no other. In the gathering twilight, the episode shone from its resting place high above the world. In a long running battle, the leader of the podcasters fought his way past his followers Xander and The Glitch in lust for the episode on Link to the Past. After vanquishing his own followers, the leader stood triumphant over the episode and grasped it with his blood-stained hands. He heard a whispered voice: “If thou hast a strong desire or dream, wish for it…” And in reply, the roaring laughter of the host echoed across time and space and even reached the far-off listeners. The name of this king of podcasters is Craig_WK, but he is known by his alias Mandrag Craig, which means Craig of the Legend of Retro.
Having just made it back onto the streets of Legend of Retro after a long stretch on the inside, TheGlitch is sent to Vice City by his old Boss, Craig_WK. But all does not go smoothly upon his arrival in the glamorous, hedonistic metropolis of Vice City. TheGlitch is set up and loses everything. Craig wants his money back, but the biker gangs, Cuban gangsters, and corrupt politicians stand in his way. Most of Vice City seems to want TheGlitch dead. His only answer is to fight back and take over the city himself. Oh, and Xander’s here too.
Nothing in this world lasts forever. Be it life, adventures, stories, or podcasts, everything in this universe will eventually come to an end. Thank you for listening to Noobs and Dragons.
With the defeat of the Vanguard of Gleh Crin, the Hate's Heart's plans have been foiled. Agon, Elleinad, and Gardin should be celebrating, but one last threat stands before them: Anonrull'Sin. There is no hope left for our heroes, only the Flesh of Infinity.
Down in the depths of this horrible dungeon, the group has come face to face with one of the most terrifying aberrations in the universe: a Beholder. As the team begins to battle with the eye ray launching monstrosity within the pit under the well, they're offered power from the Lord of Madness Gleh Crin. Can the team defeat this abomination without any help from The Hate's Heart? What of this other strange voice that whispers to the trio? Is all hope lost...?
As the group delves deeper into the labyrinth under the well in the blighted land, the trio are tempted by one of the Lords of Madness. Going deeper and deeper, they find Goblinoids who are hallowed out and seem to be afflicted by the same condition that Pierce McGreggor was. What lies deep in this horrible pit, where a dreadful voices whispers dark offers to the team? And is it the lesser of evils that it claims to be?
Deep within the pit under the well, the group has found a cult of Goblinoids who revere and sing praises to an enormous tendril of flesh that has an eye atop it. The team has no choice but to confront the mutated Bugbears, but when Gardin jumps into combat, what will happen if his cursed sword activates? And what of the terrible voice that echoes within their minds?
After going down the well at the old Swiftvine Farm, the team has come face to face with an adversary that they left in the past forty years before: the wretched slime monster that transformed into a terrifying wolf like being in the dark. When they had fought the creature before, they were forced to retreat, but now that they're trapped with it, can they emerge victorious?
While the Arcade Phantom does battle with an all you can eat buffet where he wasn't satisfied, Craig_WK gets a new neighbor that he immediately falls in love with. When it seems like the object of his affections is into another guy, he hatches a plan for revenge.
When the studio starts sinking, the GameZilla Media team needs to make some more money to repair everything. While Craig_WK is trying to extol the virtues of blaming people who can't speak English, the Arcade Phantom takes on another podcast for some more money. While he rises through the ranks to host very quickly, the Arcade Phantom quickly finds out that he's being promoted because his boss is trying to hook up with him. Will the studio get fixed? Will the Arcade Phantom find justice for being so mistreated?
After a series of horrible and destructive pranks committed by the Arcade Phantom, Craig_WK has had enough and rips up the ticket he has to the Podcaster Convention, and tells his co-host he's never allowed to go, ever. Will the Arcade Phantom be able to find a way to get to his beloved Podcaster Convention? Or is he doomed to become a Chief Justice of the Supreme Court?
Taking some time off from recording, Craig_WK and the Arcade Phantom throw a Halloween party, and invite along their pal Robby to help them hand out food to replicate body parts and tell ghastly stories. As the stories continue and they become more and more horrifying, will the cowardly Craig_WK be able to handle it? Or will he have to spend some time at the store?
A movie as good as Jax’s arms
