Square Enix at E3 2018

During the conference at E3 for 2018, Square Enix unveiled a lot of exciting news for their company., including a trailer for new Lara Croft game, The Shadow of Tomb Raider. After an exciting opening trailer, we got to see game play depicting Lara Croft using the element of surprise in combat, as she stalks people through a South American jungle. Featuring the largest hub in a Tomb Raider game, and will have underwater environments.

The expansion Stormblood for Final Fantasy XIV will be gaining new content with patch 4.3 titled Under the Moonlight, including a crossover with Monster Hunter this summer in 2018.


Set in the same world as Life is Strange, a spinoff game called The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit, featuring a child using his imagination in creative ways. Set to release 6/26/2018.

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age got a new English trailer, showing off the gorgeous music by Koichi Sugiyama, and art design by Akira Toriyama. The story of a hero whose birthright is to save the world with a charming group of adventurers. Set to release on 9/4/18.

Babylon's Fall Developed by Platinum Games is coming in 2019. Not much is known about it, but the trailer seemed interesting.

Coming to the Xbox One, Nier: Automata Become as Gods Edition is being released with all it's DLC on 6/26/2018.

Octopath Traveler for the Nintendo Switch is set to rlease 7/13/2018

Just Cause 4 has been officially announced by Square Enix, set in a fictional country in South America called Celese. Boasting incredible weather effects, including tornadoes, sandstorms and lightening. New vehicles such as a mini jet, and has more options for grappling. In this game Rico must battle against a criminal organization called the Black Hand, the game is set to release on 12/4/2018.

The Quiet Man is an interesting game which has more information coming in August.

Kingdom Hearts 3 has shown off it's new trailer featuring Frozen, Wreck it Ralph, and Monsters Inc, and is scheduled to be released on 1/29/2019.

While we didn't get any new content for the Final Fantasy 7 remake, it was nice to see what they had to offer in the coming year.
