Ubisoft at E3 2018
For E3 2018, Ubisoft was able to announce some great properties that has us excited. The opening showed us Just Dance 2019, featuring a marching band being led by a guy in a Panda costume. Set to release in October, it promises to bring us more pandas and marching bands than ever before.
Showing off the icy terrain of another world, Beyond Good and Evil 2's trailer was an exciting crowd pleaser. Showing Jade on the opposing side of conflict, it promises to be a dramatic game. The game stars a crew of space pirates traveling together to hunt down an ancient artifact. It's an action/adventure RPG, with seamless combat, and even has an open invitation to send in art, music, and films which might make it into the game. Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Hit-Record will be handling this creative aspect.
Rainbow Six: Siege is now up to 35 million players, and Operation Parabellum is now playable. With the growth of e-sports, there's a new documentary coming out called Another Mindset that follows a group of professional gamers, who play Rainbow Six: Siege.
A new motocross game, featuring ridiculous and over the top motorcycle stunts called Trials Rising is going to be coming out February of 2019, for the PC, Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch. A Beta test is going to be held later in the year that you can sign up for.
The Division 2 picks up months after the last game, in Washington DC, where chaos reigns. The new trailer depicts the struggle to survive people have to face. New progression paths, and weapon specializations, and 8 player raids are coming to the game as well. Ubisoft plans to have DLC split into three episodes which are free, each adding more content to the game. Set to release 3/15/2019.
New DLC featuring Donkey Kong is set to release for Mario and Rabbids Kingdom Battle in June.
Skull & Bones is a game from Ubisoft featuring intense pirate battles that is a shared world, with a ship you can customize, and you can even trade out sails to trick enemy forts. You can board ships, steal loot, and even gives you the ability to recruit other players to gang up on tough foes. The game seems to use combat roles for certain ships, some tanking strikes, and others having low defense but higher damage output. Releasing 2019, and there's even an early sign up for a chance to play the game early.
Elijah Wood and Spectervision have joined Ubisoft to create a new project called Transference. A psychological thriller in VR and on traditional platformers, Available Fall of 2018.
Ubisoft showed a sci fi game featuring an open world, with different factions and space combat. The new game will feature Fox McCloud from Star Fox, as well as an Arwing for him, and potentially his team to pilot. Starlink Battle for Atlas is going to be available 10/16/2018, with Star Fox being exclusive to the Nintendo Switch version, though the game is coming to Xbox One and Playstation 4.
For Honor Starter Edition is free until June 18th 2018, and is going to be getting a new expansion called Marching Fire, which will add four new factions of warriors. The game is adding Breach, a castle siege mode.
Crew 2 is a racing game that now gives you the option to pre-load a beta. It features planes, boats, helicopters, speed boats, motorcycles, and cars. It's coming to Xbox One and Playstation 4
Set in ancient Greece, the new Assassin's Creed: Odyssey stars a character sentenced to death, who rises above his doom, to become more than what he was destined for. Set during a Greek war, long ago, the game allows you to choose your gender at the start. The game gives you access to the broken spear of Leonidas, granting you great combat abilities. The new Assassin's Creed game even gives you the ability to talk to historical figures like Socrates. The game will be available on 10/5/2018.
